Today I went to Bryan’s work in the morning to talk to his boss about getting a position there as a website updater. They read my resume and tested my HTML and CSS skills. After about an hour of talking with me it was sounding pretty good. Their only gripe was that I wasn’t interested in a Computer Sciences major or a career in computers. Despite that, it sounded like I got the job and they will call Friday to talk about hours. After the interview I went out to lunch with Bryan at Wendy’s. We talked about what it’s like to work there and he said it is a very comfortable and fun work environment. If I did get the job, I would leave Holiday and then work at Bryan’s work (First Net Impressions) and the BITS help desk during the first semester.
After that I went over to Mike’s for guitar lessons. Mike says that I am getting faster!
Later in the evening, I met up with Jenna for dinner at Red Robbin. It was fun and delicious. We saw Kevin and Magan there, too!
After dinner we went over to Bryan’s to meet up with Mike and Bryan. We all went over to Backalley-Movie Night early (the last one this summer!) and got pretty good seats. The movie was Pee-Wee Herman’s Big Adventure.
I was highly skeptical. The tag line was: “You will believe a man can ride a bike” (which, looking back now I actually find it pretty funny). I don’t like the Pee-Wee Herman Show, I don’t like kids’ movies, and this seemed like a combination of the two. I was pleasantly surprised that I thoroughly enjoyed it, though. I was surprised that I was surprised! Who would have thought? I laughed through the whole thing. I think it helped that Tim Burton was the director, the whole feel of the movie just made me smile. I can say I recommend this. A lot.
