Health Check Day, Arcade, Dejima

Posted on Sunday April 12, 2009 at 3:01am in

Today was our health check day at school. I got up at 7, had breakfast, a shower, and then got on the 8:30 bus at Sakinoiriguchi to get to school. When I first got there, I wasn’t sure where to go. We had to do health checks, but all there was a sign pointing to where the X-Rays were. A bunch of people were going upstairs to a locker room for putting personal belongings. I followed them and again had no idea where to go next. I’ve never done a health check like this before where the whole school attends and no one was there to direct us. Eventually I found the gym where they were taking height and weight measurements. George and I did those and then we got our X-rays. We had a ton of time to kill before the physical so we decided to go do some exploring in Sumiyoshi with Kevin and Dan.

We went to an arcade. I found my favorite game: Taiko no Tatsu Jin!!

Playing Taiko! I totally rocked. By the way, don’t ever play this game with a ring on…

After the arcade we made our way back to school and finished our health check. It was mostly just waiting in line followed by a very quick inspection. Tami, George, Stephanie, Kaiti, Ellen and I all went to pick up our phones that came in. Yayyy, I have a Japanese phone now!

From there, Tami and I went over to Emily and Valerie’s apartment. They have a pretty nice view.

Emily’s hoodie has some funny engrish on it. She got this in Korea.

They took us out to eat at this really awesome Korean place. After eating, we went and strolled around the harbor at night.
