This was supposed to be our last day in Osaka, and we were going to spend it at the aquarium. We hopped on the subway and got to the aquarium at opening time. We had our tickets and there was no line, but it was still very congested in the beginning areas of the aquarium.
An aquarium attendant offered to take our photo for us.
The first tunnel: very crowded.
An attendant feeding the sea otters.
I actually got a pretty cool video of the sea otters eating and playing:
A penguin walked right up to the glass to have his photo taken.
A dolphin underwater.
Kaiyukan is famous for having two whale sharks. They’re very huge and impressive, here is a photo I got of one of them:
Giant manta ray.
These crabs were very cool.
Pacific Ocean fish.
Me in front of the glass.
After the aquarium, we still had our tickets to the 3D IMAX theater, so we checked it out. We saw a movie on dinosaurs which was cool (but too short!) I’ve never been to a 3D IMAX before, the effects were very fun. We ended up finishing a lot earlier with the aquarium and IMAX than we anticipated. We planned to go eat dinner with Bryan to celebrate our last night in Osaka, but we accidentally got on the wrong train and no one noticed until too late. Too make a long story short, not only did we not get to meet Bryan, but we missed our bus back to Nagasaki. I talked to the bus attendant and arranged for our tickets to be transferred to the next day with no charge to us. Luckily, that went smoothly. However, we had to now find a place to stay for another night…
