JCS Year End Party

Posted on Wednesday December 29, 2010 at 2:17am in ,

The JCS Year End party was already almost two weeks ago… This is the first chance I’ve really had to properly write about it though. Since the Folk Fair this fall, we haven’t had any JCS gathering. We intended to have a “Good Work” party after the fair to celebrate this year’s profit, but that never came together. Unfortunately, this was the first and last time we would get to celebrate with everyone after the fair. Sayaka, the current president has graduated and so this was her last official event. Brittany, the current secretary, is going to be studying in Japan next semester.

Because of these two departures, mid-year elections had to be held to replace the people leaving. So in addition to this being a party, it was also a bit more of an official event, run by our club’s advisor, Dr. Shinno. We decided to cater food for the members, and spend some extra money since we don’t get many chances to use it. We got subs from Jimmy John’s and wings from Buffalo Wild Wings for everyone. Here are some photos I took at the party.

I was up for election for president this year, but I declined. Not much happens in the Spring semester for JCS, and I do enjoy being the treasurer. I have been treasurer of JCS for three years, and am comfortable with the job. Perhaps next year I will run, but for this semester, Nick Sullivan was elected.

After the party, Kyoko and I went to Sayaka’s place to hang out with a few friends from JCS. It was at this point that Sayaka still didn’t know we had a big surprise farewell party planned for her the next day… More on that in the next post!
