A couple of weeks ago I got to upgrade my Droid X2 to a brand new phone! I was super excited to get a new phone because my X2 had become so slow that it was unusable. I am also an Android developer so that makes not just daily use difficult but also affects my app making process! After not much deliberation I decided to go with the Samsung Galaxy S4, the clear top phone at the moment. This phone is so slick and it’s so quick that it’s almost TOO quick. Google Now is amazing – any information I need I can get in seconds. Anything I want to look up Google already knows. Cards show up on my home screen and tell me how long it takes to get to work or how long it will take to get home, what the current weather is like along with a forecast, how far I’ve biked this month, what flights I have coming up and their gate number/status, and so on.
It’s really nice having such a convenient device with me at all times. The camera is not only top-notch, but QUICK. I push a button and it’s ready to go. My old phone’s camera sometimes did not even load. Maybe this technology is pretty normal these days and comparing the speed to my Droid X2 isn’t fair considering it has a fourth of the memory. The screen is full HD and the colors look great. I picked up a Spigen hybrid case off Amazon and it adds a nice little bit of weight to the phone (the device itself is super light) and not much bulk at all.
