Finally got around to working on the projects page. The first item being showcased is the new Anki Aniki website.

What do you think? It’s one of my favorite website designs I’ve done so far! It has a nice slick feel to it that doesn’t overwhelm. That’s about all I have to report today, just wanted to show off the new site.

DrewHarris.co is now debuting on a new domain name and is sporting a shiny new design. It’s been a long time coming, but after nearly five years on version 4 and nearly six years being known as Equilibrium, this website is now known as DrewHarris.co! The old Equilibrium site directs you to the new address now, so please update your bookmarks. The old look was awesome and Larry Chan did a great job with it, but it was time for an upgrade and time to get a more modern look. The old design was definitely starting to show its age. Plus, I wanted to try my hand at completely designing everything from the ground up.

If you are having trouble remembering what the old site looked like, here’s a quick comparison.

How do you like the new look? Let me know in the comments! This site will still serve as my personal website/blog/portfolio. Speaking of portfolio, the portfolio section has been completely revamped and is now database driven. The projects page is a new section I am adding but am still working on it. There are a few other things I will be implementing in the coming weeks (such as responsive media queries and a Japanese version), but this is good enough to go live for now. Also I need to get caught up on my blogging!

Wow, it’s been almost an entire month since my last post!? I’ve been pretty busy with my last semester of school I guess. Some good news, the last post I made about my art project: The professor liked it and she wanted to keep it as an example for future students. So, she kept the one that I made and I had to print, cut and glue a new one for myself.

Also, I got full credit on the last project for Operating Systems. Great!!

This post is about my final project for Computer Graphics (ART312). I will write another post either tonight or tomorrow about what I’ve been up to other than projects. For now, enjoy my travel brochure on the city of Nagasaki, Japan!

Here are some pictures I took of the finished presentation:

We get to make such cool stuff in Computer Graphics class. This is our third project, a personal brochure / album sleeve that describes ourselves. It’s not very easy to “market” oneself. I was struggling for a while on my design, but as I got into it I liked it more and more. I was thinking this project would not turn out as well as the others at first, but now I think it is my favorite. I’m not very good at talking about myself, but I think the best way to talk about yourself is to talk about what you like to do. That’s why I decided to pick four of my favorite hobbies and incorporate that into my design. Remember that logo I was working on in an earlier post? Here’s where it ended up!

Like I said, I’m really happy with how it turned out. I’m liking this designing stuff!
